Anant Roongta, a third generation entrepreneur at Famous Studios, is taking forth the legacy set by his respected Grandfather and Father. From an early age, Anant has been closely witnessing content manifestations in the audio-visual industry. He has nurtured his skill sets well enough to be equipped
to manage a large chunk of the operations of the Famous Studios, while also taking the brand to newer heights. He took complete charge of the business early this year, in January.
Anant has maintained a strong focus towards introducing innovative technologies, in order to add new age relevance to offerings at Famous Studios. He has spearheaded new service offerings at the studio such as Slow-Mo videos, Motion Capture technology among the many others. He is determined and is dedicatedly working towards expanding their creative studios and visual effects
Anant believes that the industry has a huge creative potential. His long term vision is to re-energise Famous Studios into a creative hub, opening doors for creative enthusiasts and learners from across the globe.
Anant has completed his Masters in Entrepreneurship from Aston University, UK.
First at Famous
Famous Studios was established in 1946 as Asia’s first Air-conditioned studio
Between 1950’s to 1960’s our Founder Shree J.B. Roongta was the president of IMPA
Back in 1951, Famous Studios produced the feature-film ‘Sanam’ with Dev Anand and Siroya Begum in the lead.
In the 1960s, Famous Studios set up a camera rentals division with India’s first Mitchell Camera with renowned cinematographer Fali Mistry.

In 1992 Famous Studios set up India’s first international grade sound studio – Galactica
The award winning animation studio Famous House of Artists was established in 1998
In 2000 Famous introduced integrated digital post production facility with telecine, auto desk, smoke, FCP and Avid
Famous Studios wins the Dada Saheb Phalke Academy Award in 2001 for services to the Indian Film Industry as a Studio Owner
Famous Studios’ lead sound engineer is a Grammy nominee and works very closely with Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy on various music related projects for Bollywood.
Sholay and Mr. India that created cinematic history were restored to its full glory at Famous Studios in 2012
Famous was the first studio in India to use Motion Capture technology for an Indian TV Commercial in 2018
Launched Dolby Atmos in 2019 in our Galactica sound studio
